Serco Leadership Programme

The Serco Leadership Programme (SLP) is a fast-track development programme for nominated, high potential candidates. Launched in 2003, the SLP enables us to identify, develop and retain those employees who have the potential to reach a leadership position within Serco. The intention of the programme is to accelerate development in individuals and proactively support them in their progress.

From a diagnostic assessment of an individual’s capability, the outcomes are translated into a Personal Development Plan (PDP). It helps participants form an accurate picture of their strengths, limitations and areas for development. In addition, there are several components to the Programme which all candidates undertake to help build on the core skills required of a leader within Serco.

The aim is to enable Chief Executives, Managing Directors and Directors to become more familiar with the capability of managers across the organisation. To date, 55 candidates are at various stages of the programme.
