Serco provide support for the complete IT infrastructure, including spacecraft operations IT support through a separate contract, to the European Space Agency (ESA). The Service Level Agreement driven contract was awarded to Serco in 1998, whilst Serco managed the original task based contract for ESA from 1980 to 1998.

Technology

Serco approach to the delivery of technology services falls into two areas: the delivery of technology led service or manpower contracts, and the promotion of Serco Group technology products.

Serco has over 30 years experience in delivering technology contracts within our European operations outside of the UK. We began with the delivery of specialist satellite engineering support to the European Space Agency and moved into the delivery of IT support and call centre related operations as the markets have changed.

Serco is an independent service provider with no manufacturing interests. However, through our flexible approach to service delivery we work with clients and technology providers to supply full turnkey projects and so the solutions our clients require.

IT Support Services to the EC

Serco provides to the European Commission IT support services to the Directorate General for Regional Policy based upon demanding Service Level Agreements.

National Traffic Control Centre

Traffic Information Services (a wholly owned subsidiary of Serco) was in March 2001, selected by the UK Highways Agency to deliver and operate its National Traffic Control Centre project, a 10-year £160M Public-Private Partnership contract to deliver an accurate and relevant traffic information service for road users and transport operators throughout England. Serco has a 10 year contract through which we will deliver and have started operation at the UK National Traffic Control Centre.
