Data Lifecycle Management

Serco Data Lifecycle Management (DLM) solutions deliver the correct levels of data resilience, accessibility, system performance and security in line with business needs.

Working with our customers we look at their needs and the legislative requirements which surround their organisations. For example; for financial organisations and records there are often retention requirements prior to them being migrated to an off-line storage medium.

Serco work with our customers to support the information valuation exercise, which includes an inventory of existing data and storage resources, and support in the definition of data classification  and its relative importance to the business.

Working together with you we support the development of management policies to match the data with the most appropriate storage resource and process.  Clearly defined policies enable effective deployment of DLM solutions, enabling increased levels of automation and reducing "human lag" factors from many operations. Importantly, the implementation of a DLM solution will also have other benefits including improved visibility over data and its access, and increased availability of data to appropriate stakeholders.

Serco Fact

Serco have recently completed a £2.7m investment in a comprehensive toolset supporting our tier 3 data centre facilities.
