Multi-Activity Contracts
A multi-activity contract (MAC) is very similar to a service contract in that it operates on the basis of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The major difference is that a number of activities are brought together under a single contract allowing the contractor to identify areas of commonality and economies of scale. From start of the contract there is already an economy of scale for the client in having only one contract to manage rather than many.
MACs can be used for the delivery of discrete service areas (e.g. full IT support services), disparate service areas (e.g. general services for a building) or for the management of a full facility (e.g. a hospital or school).
