Serco, in an equal joint venture with Equion Management Services Limited, were awarded a contract for the design, build, finance and operate for the tri-services a college for senior offices for the study and management of armed conflict.
In 2000 during the construction phase Serco had to procure the facilities management equipment, recruit the staff and put in place the Support Services for the College. This was achieved at a cost of some €9.0 million. Serco is now managing a 28 year "facilities and task management" contract employing a staff of 345 with a value of about €12.0 million per annum.
Serco operate all the JSCSC facilities, providing all the grounds and buildings maintenance for the 100 acre site, containing some 45000 sq metres of College, 290 families quarters, and sports pitches including 2 cricket pitches, an all weather hockey pitch, tennis courts, a rugby and a football pitch as well as squash courts and a fitness suite. Finally the teaching wing has 6 major lecture theatres, 67 syndicate rooms, and associated military and academic offices.
We also provide a catering office and travel office, mess reception \ security and an integrated IT network and systems solution. Subcontractors are used for the provision of catering and cleaning services, and the delivering of the war studies courses.
