Serco Germany
Serco Germany has its roots in the defence market, having worked with the German Armed Forces for over 40 years. In what was one of the first outsourcing projects in Germany, Serco was appointed to maintain radar systems that enabled the German Air Force to monitor national airspace.
Since then, the number and type of military contracts Serco handles in Germany has diversified. This reflects the transformation of the German Armed Forces and its focus on operational duties and core military capabilities. Our partnership with the German army is regarded throughout mainland Europe as the first of its kind and is a prime example of successful military cooperation with a private sector provider.
In addition, Serco has been running a partly privatised prison in Hünfeld in partnership with the state of Hessen since 2005, the first of its kind in Germany. Serco provides a wide range of services, including building management and psychological and medical care for offenders.
