Defence
Serco provides support services to the armed forces of a number of countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany and Australia, working across land, sea, air, nuclear and space environments.
Our primary role is to support operations by serving as an intelligent and independent integrator of people, processes, equipment and technology, enabling improved availability and capability to the front line. This approach delivers value for money services that continue to improve customer operations throughout the life of our contracts.
We provide training, logistics and operational support services to the Australian Department of Defence, the German Bundeswehr and US Department of Defense.
In the United Kingdom, where we have worked with the Ministry of Defence since 1964, we provide operational support to all three services. Specifically, we:
- Provide training, engineering and operational support to the RAF and flight arms of the British Army and Royal Navy
- See how we support the RAF's merlin helicopters
- Put the Royal Navy to sea at its three main UK bases
- Manage the UK Atomic Weapons Establishment
- Operate and maintain strategic defence assets, including the Skynet 5 secure satellite communications network and the Joint Services Command and Staff College
- Provide systems engineering, safety assurance and risk management services
- Improving military helicopter availability
- See how Serco in North America supports the military and their families
Wherever we work, we bring a service culture to what we do - that means understanding the difference between commodity and value, and developing long term, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers.
