Serco

a leading provider of integrated service solutions in the worldwide defence and aerospace markets

A key partner in delivering mdern military training

Under contract to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), Serco provides operational support services at one of Europe's most advanced combat training centres, in Saxony-Anhalt.

The Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide centre is one of the army's battle training facilities. Here, Serco manages all the logistical and technological support tasks, centralised in a support centre, to enable task forces up to the size of a battalion to be trained in realistic battlefield conditions.

The centre uses the most advanced simulation and communications technology. Each year, more than 20 two week exercises are carried out, during which up to 1,500 soldiers and 600 combat and transport vehicles take part. Each movement made by a soldier or vehicle can be observed in real time and used to assess the simulated battle immediately after the event.

Serco Germany

Serco Germany has its roots in the defence market, having worked with the German Armed Forces for over 40 years. In what was one of the first outsourcing projects in Germany, Serco was appointed to maintain radar systems that enabled the German Air Force to monitor national airspace.
