Education and Children's Services

Childrens Services Authorities

Serco works in partnership with Children's Services Authorities across the country to provide strategic support, increase organisational capacity and enhance capability, enabling them to move ahead with this exciting agenda for change. Whether on a large scale or a much smaller scale with strategic consultancy work, we consistently bring our unrivalled experience across the sector to the partnership.

Currently we are at the heart of service delivery for well over 130,000 children and their families and have a staff of some 1,400 who are experts in their field and across the Every Child Matters agenda. We provide strategic management, service delivery and front line capacity in various ways to very different local authorities - county and unitary, city and rural, large and small - all of them at very different stages in their development.

We work in particularly close partnership with two Local Authorities - Bradford and Walsall - where together we are helping to transform outcomes for children.  Ofsted rated Education Walsall as the most improved LEA in the country ever and in the  most recently published results Education Bradford was in the top 10 for improvement at Key Stage 4 and Walsall in the top 10 for improvement at Key Stage 2. Both partnerships are based on close and effective relationships with the Council, schools and their governing bodies, teachers, learners and their communities, and a wide range of stakeholders and partners.
