Duncan Mackison, business development director, law enforcement and resilience

Duncan leads Serco's business development in the Law Enforcement and Civil Resilience markets. Recent projects have focussed on finding efficiencies in back and middle office activities within police forces based on local government BPO models, review of police custody and detainee transport operations and building business cases for operational and support shared service models in police forces. Duncan is also the Serco lead for the Olympics in 2012.

Within a variety of service delivery and business development roles, Duncan's experience prior to joining Serco includes the health sector (Hospital PFI, LIFT companies, non-emergency ambulances), the education sector (schools PFI) and the MoD sector (accommodation projects). Duncan also led the outsourced delivery of the CharterMark customer service award with the Cabinet Office, and the outsourced delivery of the tourist facility accreditation programme for Visit Britain.

Prior to working in business Duncan was a Royal Marine officer for nine years.
