Preparedness
Serco consultants have helped the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister deliver the New Dimension programme to improve the UK's fire and rescue services' response to a terrorist-related or other catastrophic incident.
Issues covered include mass decontamination of the public, urban search and rescue, and the national command and control infrastructure required to manage very large incidents.
The programme has a total budget of more than £200m over three years. Serco's role includes:
- programme and project management
- specialist technical assurance
- procurement support
- change management
- financial management
- development of doctrine and concepts of operation
- training strategy and design
