Serco Group plc/Lockheed Martin UK statement on the AWE Management Limited

As the remaining shareholders in AWE Management Limited (AWEML), we welcome BNFL's announcement on the disposal of its shareholding in AWEML, which will end the current uncertainty on this matter and further the long-term interests of AWE.
As founding members of the consortium we are interested in exercising our pre-emption rights that will form part of the process. Our primary objective is to ensure that the high performance service, which has been delivering a highly complex science-based programme to the Ministry of Defence on time and on budget, continues throughout the remaining 17 years of the current contract.
