Serco Group plc - Electronic Monitoring of Offenders Contract Award

Serco Group plc ("Serco") today announces it has been awarded a five year contract, with the potential of up to a further two years, by the UK Government to provide electronic monitoring of offenders.
The Home Office contract awarded to Serco's wholly owned subsidiary, Premier Custodial Group Limited ("Premier"), starts in April 2005.
Premier currently delivers monitoring services in two of the four regions across England and Wales. This new contract will effectively maintain Premier's share of this market which is being reorganised into five geographic regions. The new contract covers two of the five regions including: London & Eastern and West Midlands & Wales regions.
Premier will deliver enhanced value for money to the Home Office through further investing in employees and in innovative new technology.
