Serco wins UK homeland security contract

Serco Group plc ("Serco") today announces it has signed a contract with the UK Government to provide solutions to help detect the illicit importation of radiological substances at UK borders. The contract with the Home Office to supply equipment, training and support is worth more than £100 million over ten years. The equipment will be operated by HM Revenue & Customs.
The programme, known as Cyclamen, provides routine screening of traffic at all types of UK points of entry to prevent the illicit importation of radiological substances, as part of the Government's counter-terrorism strategy.
Serco Chief Executive Christopher Hyman said:
