Date : 30 November 2006

Serco has been named as Britain’s most admired support services company for the third year running, and thirteenth most admired company overall in an independent survey of the UK’s largest listed companies.

The Management Today survey, run in conjunction with Nottingham Business School, involved questioning over 200 of the largest public companies in the country to evaluate their peers.

Serco was also the leading company from outside the FTSE 100 in the “value as a long term investment” and “community and environmental responsibility” criteria.  Performance was rated against these and seven other criteria: quality of management, financial soundness, quality of services, ability to attract, develop and retain top talent, capacity to innovate, quality of marketing and use of corporate assets.

Chris Hyman, Serco Group Chief Executive, said: “Our reputation is built on the impact we have  every day on our customers’ lives. The recognition from our peers and competitors which this award represents is a testament to the 47,000 Serco people who are passionate about delivering excellent service.

“We combine this public service ethos with commercial know-how to address the needs of Governments, local authorities, public agencies and commercial companies in 38 countries around the world.”
