Serco announces new Board appointment

Serco Group plc today announces that Grant Rumbles, Chief Operating Officer is to be appointed to the Board as an Executive Director of the Company.

Grant, 49, joined Serco in 1992 when International Aeradio Ltd, where he worked as a senior air traffic control officer, was acquired by the Group. Grant will have achieved 25 years continuous service within the Group this year. He has progressed through a range of air traffic and general management positions and in 2001 was appointed to Serco's Global Management Board when he was promoted to Chief Executive of the Continental Europe and Middle East division.

In 2004, Grant returned to the UK to join the Group's Executive team as Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the company's operational performance including the ongoing focus on portfolio management and efficiency.

Kevin Beeston, Chairman said: "Grant has played a significant role in building Serco into the leading international service company that it is today. His deep knowledge of our operations, focus on delivery and client relationships coupled with his personal drive means he will be a valuable addition to the Board as we continue to grow."

The appointment is effective from July 3rd 2007.
