Serco Group plc ('Serco') today announces the appointment of Tom Corcoran as a Non-Executive Director. Tom will take up this post as of today, December 3, 2007.

With 40 years of global business experience Tom brings a wealth of knowledge, particularly in the US aerospace and defense contracting industry. He is currently Senior Advisor, The Carlyle Group, a Washington, DC, based private equity firm and he is President of Corcoran Enterprises, LLC, a management consulting firm.

Tom has held a variety of senior positions in the aerospace, defence and electronics industries including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allegheny Teledyne and President and Chief Operating Officer of Lockheed Martin’s Electronic and Space Sectors.  During his 26 year tenure with General Electric Tom held a number of senior management positions including Vice President and General Manager of GE Aerospace operations.

He holds other Non-Executive Director positions on the boards of Aer Lingus Ltd., L3 Communications Holdings Inc, Labarge Inc, REMEC Inc. and ARINC Inc., a Carlyle Group owned company.

In addition to joining the Board, Tom will sit on the Remuneration, Audit, Nomination and Training and Development committees.
