Smaller and medium sized contracts are fundamental to Serco and this release is to update analysts and investors on just some of the wins, rebids and extensions to scope and scale in recent months. The contracts listed here are collectively valued at more than £450m. We aim to issue further updates from time to time.
ICT modernisation and support - Southwark Council
Southwark Council has selected Serco to provide and support its information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure in a five-year deal valued at £26m. Serco will further modernise the council's desktops, servers and software applications and will manage the ICT estate remotely, enabling the council to scale up resources and deliver frontline services more flexibly.
ICT programme management and support - Severn Trent Water
Severn Trent is the world's fourth largest privately-owned water company, serving over 8m customers. Serco will provide programme and project management, consulting, technical delivery, IT engineering and technology refresh services as part of a five-year IT infrastructure framework contract, valued at around £40m.
ICT support - London Borough of Ealing
The London Borough of Ealing has appointed Serco preferred bidder to continue providing ICT support. The renewed contract will be for ten years, with a minimum value of £30m over this period.
Children's services, transformation partnership - Stoke-on-Trent City Council
Serco has been appointed preferred bidder for a strategic partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to transform their children's services. The contract will be valued at £5m over three years, with the potential for substantial growth.
Management consultancy services - UK government departments
Serco has been chosen as a supplier on the prestigious Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Catalist framework. Serco will provide consulting services to UK government departments looking to undertake transformational projects. Only ten firms have been selected for the framework, giving them the opportunity to compete for a share of around £1.5bn of work over four years.
Management consultancy services - Metropolitan Police
Serco is one of only two suppliers to be included in all five categories of the Metropolitan Police's Department Services Framework. The categories on which Serco will advise are full life cycle programme management, business change, technical consultancy, solution provision and research and development of new and emerging technologies. The total potential value of the framework to all the qualified suppliers is around £200m over four years.
Economic regeneration - UK Department of Trade and Industry
The Department of Trade and Industry has selected Serco to manage and deliver its Business Performance Diagnostic and Benchmark Index tools, which help small and medium sized enterprises benchmark themselves against their peers. The contract is valued at £2m over three years.
Scientific support services - European Space Agency
The European Space Agency has awarded Serco a framework contract for support to the Scientific Programme Directorate and the European Space Astronomy Centre. The contract is for five years and Serco's current share is valued at around ?2m per annum. Serco will provide a range of scientific, engineering, IT and administrative services.
Environmental services, shared services partnership - Mid Suffolk/ Babergh Councils
Serco has been awarded a contract by Mid Suffolk and Babergh District Councils in a groundbreaking shared services partnership for waste and recycling services. The contract is for up to 21 years and is valued at around £80m over this period.
Environmental services - Mid Sussex District Council
Mid Sussex District Council has appointed Serco to provide refuse, recycling and street cleaning services. The contract is for seven years, with an option to extend to 21 years. Over this longer period, its value is around £74m.
Aeronautical services - Dubai Department of Civil Aviation
Serco has successfully rebid its contract to provide air traffic control, airside operations, engineering and meteorological services in support of the Department of Civil Aviation at Dubai International Airport. The contract has a value of £17.5m over two years.
Traffic management - Georgia Department of Transportation
The Georgia Department of Transportation has appointed Serco to run the state's Traffic Management Center. This is one of Serco's first traffic management contracts in North America. The contract is for up to four years and is valued at $12m.
Parking management - City of Chicago
Serco has won two parking-related contracts with the City of Chicago, valued at more than $10 million over the next five years. Serco will provide managed operations, mechanical maintenance identification, parking enforcement and revenue reporting.
Vehicle maintenance - Watford Borough Council
Serco has successfully rebid its contract to provide vehicle repair and maintenance services to Watford Borough Council. The new contract is worth £1.5m over five years and builds on the success of our existing vehicle maintenance operations in Watford and across the UK.
Infrastructure monitoring and rail grinding - Network Rail
Network Rail has extended its contract for infrastructure monitoring and rail grinding services. The extension is valued at approximately £45m over two years.
Rail management pilots - Network Rail
Network Rail has appointed Serco as preferred bidder to operate locomotives on the test routes of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) piloting scheme. ERTMS is a new signalling methodology that will ultimately be rolled out across Europe. The contract is valued at around £5m over three years.
Engineering and technical services - US Navy
Serco has won a contract to provide advanced anti-terrorism systems at US Navy ports around the world. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a total potential value of $64m over five years. The award expands Serco's work over the last three years to integrate surveillance, detection and information-sharing systems to improve anti-terrorism protection.
Training solutions - US Office of Personnel Management
The US Office of Personnel Management has awarded Serco two indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts under the Training Management Assistance program. These programs assist government agencies in developing workforce planning and management strategies, e-learning and other training solutions. The contracts give Serco the opportunity to compete for a share of $500m of work over the next five years.
HR services - US Marine Corp
The Marine Corps has awarded Serco a contract to help implement the National Security Personnel System. The contract has a potential value of $10m over three years. Serco will provide management, development, training and human resources tools.
Data analysis and testing - US Coast Guard
The US Coast Guard renewed Serco's contract to support the Deepwater Acquisition Program. Serco provides a unique set of skills and tools for data analysis and evaluation, testing and reporting. The contract is valued at $3m over three years.
Multi activity contract - UK Ministry of Defence
Serco has been awarded a multi-activity support services contract for British Forces on the South Atlantic bases of Ascension Island and the Falkland Islands. The contract is valued at around £20m over five years.
