Serco Joins UK Prime Minister's Middle East Trade Visit

Christopher Hyman, Serco Group Chief Executive, this week joins the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, on his trade visit to the Middle East. Mr Hyman is among approximately 30 business leaders who have been invited to join Mr Brown on the visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The UK Government is also represented on the visit by the Business Secretary, Lord Mandelson, and the Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Ed Miliband.
Serco has delivered services in the Middle East since 1947 when it was awarded the contract to deliver Air Navigation Services at Bahrain International Airport. Serco currently delivers Air Navigation Services to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khamaih and Bahrain International Airports. Earlier this year Serco signed a contract with the Dubai Government Roads and Transport Authority to operate and maintain the first two lines of the new Dubai Metro from autumn 2009.
