Type 92 Air Defence Radar - Delivering operational availability
The UK MoD contracted the Type 92 radar OEM to provide Contractor Logistics Support (CLS). One of the most important issues with CLS is sustainability over the full contract duration and/or projected life of the equipment. A key deliverable within this contract is greater than 95% operational availability. The OEM selected Serco as the in-country technical partner to deliver the CLS contract.
Engineering functions such as call out cover, on site assistance, technical training, remote fault diagnosis and 3rd line repair activity are covered by Serco Subject Matter Experts. In addition Serco is responsible for material movement and control as well as day-to-day programme management and administration. Serco consistently exceeds the requirement for 95% operational availability.
