Regulatory Support

We have a long pedigree of providing regulatory assessment and advice to the UK nuclear regulatory community, both defence and civil. Our regulatory experts recognise the importance of preserving their independence. Our principal regulatory activities are:

• Conducting on-site regulatory inspections, through a regular programme of audit and inspection. Staff are highly experienced in safety auditing and their inspections focus on all aspects of nuclear safety management and practice.
• Conducting regulatory assessments of safety case documentation both for operating reactor plant and their support facilities. We have significant PWR assessment experience.
• Providing policy advice on all aspects of nuclear safety regulation. We assisted the NII with developing the 2005 SAPs.
