These services are supported by our expertise in the use of a number of thermal-hydraulic computer codes, including:
- CFX and FLUENT, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes used for the detailed assessment of complex fluid flow and heat transfer.
- RELAP and TRACE, whole plant analysis codes used primarily for LOCA assessments.
- PANTHER, used for fault studies and fuel management.
- FEAT (Finite Element Analysis Toolbox), a general tool for simulating incompressible flow, heat transfer and stress.
- TAU, developed and owned by Serco and used for modelling heat transfer.
We also have extensive experience of computer code validation, safety case construction and the independent peer review of safety cases.
