Serco Games Research

Serco Games Research (SGR) is a group within Serco Usability Services that offers gaming experience testing services to video games developers and publishers. SGR focuses on game playability, gaining real world feedback from users to inform the game development process. 

SGR can assist the games development process at all stages:

  • Identifying, expanding and defining game concepts and storylines
    - Focus groups and workshops
    - User needs analysis - often conducted in the field
       
  • User input into design alternatives, screen layout, HUD, menu structure, etc.
    - Collaborative design
    - Prototype testing
    - Information architecture studies 

  • Scenario testing, layout testing, control testing, challenge testing, gameplay feedback.
    - With prototypes or sections of games
    - Can also work with wireframes
    - Expert reviews
    - Usability testing
    - Competitive usability testing
