Our people 2018
To build a robust pipeline of future National Leaders, we are expanding our development opportunities at all career levels. In 2017 we launched three new programmes in our transport sector, aimed at engaging and developing National Emirati talent, for the benefit of the individuals themselves, our business and the United Arab Emirates. In 2018, we expanded these across the Division:
- The Fursati Programme enables interns and graduates from local universities to gain practical experience through work placements across our business in the region.
- The Qudrati Programme is an apprenticeship scheme to enable national graduates to train in specific skillsets not immediately available in the market such as Technical Railway skills or Air Traffic Control skills and to then continue their careers with Serco in their chosen profession.
- The Al Masar Programme focuses on accelerated career progression for high potential talent through ‘fast-track’ development. Objectives include gaining a broader business perspective and better understanding of progression opportunities in Serco, development of leadership behaviours and building a strong network.
Humaid Bishwari, Head of Operations for Serco at Sharjah Air Navigation Services, said: “Serco has continuously paved ways for me to develop and has invested in my career by preparing me to become a manager and then Contract Manager. In my ten years with Serco, the progression and learning has never stopped.”
A representative from the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) attended the graduation for the Al Masar cohort in November.
