In the mountainous surrounds of Hong Kong, road tunnels provide vital commuter links. Each day, more than 90,000 vehicles can pass through the Serco-operated Lion Rock Tunnel
In such a busy system, the safe, smooth-running of the tunnel is down to co-operation and trust

We improve services by managing people, processes, technology and assets more effectively.

Being a responsible business

Corporate responsibility (CR) is vital to Serco. It encompasses some of the most important aspects of our long-term sustainability: health and safety, the environment, our people and our communities. Being sustainable also requires us to look after the interests of our customers, suppliers and other partners.

Our CR model therefore directly influences every aspect of our work. Whether we are developing our people and keeping them safe from harm, or improving our financial performance through energy efficiency - and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in the process - it is impossible to separate our CR agenda from our day-to-day business. CR is intrinsic to the way we bid for contracts and the way that we run them. And it is reflected in our values, which govern every decision we make and ensure that we act in the right way.

At the same time, we must ensure that our CR approach is rigorous. The Serco Management System includes well-established policies, processes and reporting, which define how we work and enable us to monitor and understand our performance.

Every year, we publish a CR report which explains our approach, our recent activities, our performance and our objectives for the next 12 months. Go to the latest report to find out more.
