Julie Carroll - Chief Human Resources Officer - Serco Asia Pacific

Serco is and always will be committed to gender equality.

With an employment footprint in the Asia Pacific region of over 13,000 people, we have equal gender representation, with females making up 50.6%. And when looking at our like-for-like roles, we are proud to say the gender pay gap is small - 0.2%. And an almost equal number of our promotions last year - 44% - were women.

As a place where everyone has an opportunity to they belong and can make an impact, we have a great story to tell at Serco.

We are not complacent, and we continue to look for ways to improve and to place our people and culture at the heart of what we do. Over the last 12 months, this has included (but isn’t limited to):

  • Extending paid parental leave to be of equal quantum and inclusive of both parents, regardless of gender.
  • A new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy, informed by consultation with our colleague community networks and our Executive Inclusion and Equity Council.
  • Working with the Government on a program of work to attract and support women returning to the workforce.
  • In impacting a better future and being a place people can be proud to work, we recognise the important role we can play in driving social change. In support of workplace accreditation with White Ribbon Australia we’ve adopted a range of initiatives supporting the prevention of family and domestic abuse and creating an environment where everyone feels confident and safe in seeking support.

Serco is proud to have a global footprint, which enables us to share best practices worldwide and bring together the right people, the right technology, and the right partners to create innovative solutions that deliver a positive impact through equitable, meaningful, and safe employment.
