Diversity through inclusion
We are committed to ensuring an inclusive workplace that embraces and promotes diversity. We understand the importance of empowering individuals and enabling everyone to reach their full potential.
Successfully managing a diverse workforce means recognising every individual’s contribution. We respect and value the diversity of our people and know it’s a key factor in our ability to make a positive difference every day to those we work with.
We aim to provide differently-abled employees with the opportunity to develop their career while preventing any negative impact on their health, career sustainability or self-sufficiency.
Indigenous inclusion - our Reconciliation Action Plan
Serco prides itself on delivering important services on behalf of governments across the nation, enabling our people to touch the lives of many thousands of Australians. We employ - and deliver services to - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples representing many diverse communities across Australia. This makes our reconciliation journey a commercial and ethical imperative, and a platform for our future success.
Serco’s vision for reconciliation is to promote equality for First Nations people and instil a shared pride in First Nations’ cultures. Serco’s history of service and business ethos makes us confident that we will succeed in progressing the objectives of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
We lead a culture of equal opportunity, respect and acceptance, and we embrace ambiguity and complexity. We focus on supporting our people by taking action to remove unconscious bias and encouraging honesty in all areas of our business.
Every year we provide an annual report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency that details our workplace profile in accordance with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. View the 2018-19 report here.
