On 9 March 2020 the Premier of Western Australia announced the extension of Serco’s contract at Fiona Stanley Hospital through to August 2027.

This will not include our cleaning, catering or logistics services, which South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) will assume responsibility for in August 2021. Employees currently working in these services will continue to be employed by Serco until 1 August 2021. From mid July 2020, a simplified process will begin for affected employees in these services to transition to equivalent level positions as SMHS employees from 2 August 2021.

The transition process will be managed by the SMHS Transition Project team with support from the Serco Transition team.
