Careers at Kohuora Auckland South Corrections Facility

ASCF was officially opened in May 2015, and is a world class facility for up to 960 sentenced male prisoners. Our first priority is the safety and security of the community. Key focus areas for our facility include reducing re-offending and providing better outcomes for Maori. Working with staff from many cultures, whanau, hapu and iwi, Maori service providers and other community groups, Serco has introduced programmes and services designed to address Maori specific needs and reconnect Maori prisoners to their cultural heritage.

Is a career at Serco for you?

We look for people who will live by our Values – Care, Innovation, Pride and Trust – in all their dealings with the people in our care, colleagues, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

We want people to join us who want to contribute positively to the lives of prisoners. Drawing on your own life experience, you will provide support and encouragement to people who will leave prison with more social and employment skills than when they arrived.

We apply our responsible prisoner model which promotes respect, encourages positive behaviour, provides opportunities for prisoners to work and earn money, and in turn take responsibility for managing their own circumstances. We do this through the delivery of education, training, rehabilitation and resettlement programmes.

One of our main aims is to positively contribute to the communities that we work in. Our employees help prisoners to turn their lives around and complete their time in custody as more capable and confident citizens who will make a constructive contribution to the community they will return to on release.
