Voluntary Tax Transparency Report

Foreword

Serco Asia Pacific is committed to transparent corporate reporting and I am pleased to present our first Tax Transparency Report for the year ended 31 December 2020 which has been prepared in accordance with the Australian Voluntary Tax Transparency Code.

In more than 30 years that Serco has been providing services in Australia we have never seen a challenge of the size or complexity of the COVID-19 crisis. Despite this, Serco’s team across Asia Pacific has responded and adapted throughout to support governments and communities, something we are immensely proud of.

Serco employs more than 16,000 people across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. We have team members based in every state and territory of Australia, in the cities and the regions and with responsibility to provide numerous services for our fellow citizens.

In this context we take our role as a responsible corporate citizen incredibly seriously and especially when it comes to our corporate governance. This report includes details of Serco Asia Pacific’s tax governance, the Australian taxes we paid and collected and our ongoing contribution to the Australian economy.
