Immigration Control

In the UK, Serco works closely with the Home Office's UK Visas and Immigration to help the Government manage migration successfully and currently operate one Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) in the UK; Yarl's Wood IRC.

In Australia, Serco has managed the onshore immigration detention environment since 2009. We are committed to treating the people in our care with dignity and respect, responding to their cultural, religious and individual needs, in a safe and secure environment.

Our employees work hard to deliver high quality services to our customer, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

There are eleven immigration detention facilities that Serco manage. These are located in metropolitan and regional locations within Australia and on Christmas Island, providing various types of accommodation to meet the needs of the people in our care.

The health, safety and wellbeing of the people in our care, our employees and communities we operate within remain paramount, as we  seek to innovate, develop and continuously improve in our provision of immigration services, to meet our responsibilities and fulfil our duty of care.
