Economic Development and Regeneration
By creating the conditions for economic prosperity, local government is advancing the economic well-being of its citizens, as well as contributing to a strong knowledge based UK economy. Regeneration is evidently a priority for local government, particularly in 'closing the gap' and helping people within economically deprived areas.
What we do
Serco is one of Europe's largest and fastest growing providers of business support programmes, focused on improving the competitiveness of all businesses and their capacity to generate wealth and employment. We are the only UK contractor engaged both regionally and nationally to deliver Business Link services.
By supporting the creation and growth of new businesses, we contribute to the regeneration of deprived areas. In providing local Business Link services for the London Development Authority, we are supporting the capital's most economically challenged boroughs. We recognise the importance of attracting long-term inward investment and are managing nationally recognised innovation centres, such as the Centre for Advance Software technology in North Wales, which is a magnet for new businesses and generating jobs in the region.
Serco is focused on supporting diversity in business communities - providing equality of opportunity through equality of access to vital business advice and support.
