An employer of choice for nationals
We offer numerous programmes to support the development of national talent across the Middle East division.
In recognition of the contributions we are making to the nationalisation agenda, we have been awarded Platinum membership of the National Program for Emiratisation (Tawteen) by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MOHRE). Serco is one of only two multinational companies with CEO representation on the MOHRE Emiratisation Board.
Serco has also been recognised as an employer of choice for UAE nationals by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the Middle East.
Here are some of the programmes we have in place for nationals:
- The Fursati Programme enables interns and graduates from local universities to gain practical experience through work placements across our business in the region.
- The Qudrati Programme is an apprenticeship scheme to enable national graduates to train in specific skillsets not immediately available in the market, such as technical railway skills or air traffic control skills, and to then continue their careers with Serco in their chosen profession.
- The Al Masar Programme focuses on accelerated career progression for high-potential talent through ‘fast-track’ development. Objectives include gaining a broader business perspective and better understanding of progression opportunities in Serco, development of leadership behaviours and building a strong network.

Diversity and Inclusion
Creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive work environment is an important part of our moral principles and values.
We are proud to have a vast array of cultures amongst our colleagues, with over 61 different nationalities working in Serco. We encourage everybody to celebrate different cultures, nationalities and experiences with each other. We’ve put tremendous effort into creating and executing a robust diversity and inclusion framework and agenda that caters to everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, physical abilitiy and more. All colleagues are respected, regardless of who they are or what they do for the business

Graduate Programme
Serco offers recent graduates an amazing springboard for a management career and the unique opportunity to get directly involved in solving some of the real and pressing challenges of delivering essential public services.
Graduates will take on real challenges, work with inspiring leaders, and gain the skills, experience and commercial insight to set them on the path of a fulfilling career in management and leadership.
Women in Leadership
Our aim at Serco Middle East is to create a culture that is diverse and inclusive and we are proud to have 50% female representation on our Executive Leadership Team. By enabling and driving success for women in the workplace, we are able to bring together various leadership styles which results in better decision-making and more successful achievements of business objectives. A shift must take place if women are ultimately able to occupy more positions around the board room table. Our women in leadership initiative began as an effort to help make that shift. We share one interview per month to highlight one of our current or future female leaders.
