Serco Group plc, the international service company, is pleased to announce that Kate Steadman, Group Strategy Director, has been appointed to the Group’s Executive Committee. The Committee is chaired by Rupert Soames, Group Chief Executive Officer, and comprises, with the addition of Kate, 11 other members, including the Group Chief Financial Officer, Group Chief Operating Officer, the divisional Chief Executives and other selected corporate function heads. The Committee has delegated responsibility from the Board to ensure the effective direction and control of the business and to deliver the Group's long term goals and strategy.
Since joining the Group in February 2016, Kate has led the further development of Serco’s strategy: analysing longer term trends, customer requirements and competitive dynamics. Kate is also working closely with Serco’s new Centres of Excellence which are responsible for managing sector pipelines, developing value propositions and enabling knowledge sharing in order to fully harness our international expertise. In addition, Kate is leading our efforts to further develop Serco’s reputation as a valued and respected source of innovative thinking about the delivery of public services by private companies.
Rupert Soames, Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am delighted that Kate Steadman is joining the Executive Committee, having worked closely with all of the other members and the wider management team in leading the next stage of the development of Serco’s strategy. Kate has brought a wealth of experience in public sector markets and in strategic thinking to Serco as we continue to transform our business and implement our strategy to deliver innovative and excellent public services in the fields of Justice & Immigration, Defence, Health, Transport and Citizens’ Services in the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.”
