FEMA's mission is to support citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate all hazards. Within FEMA, the Recovery Directorate's Public Assistance (PA) Division has the specific mission of providing applicant assistance to State, Tribal and local Government, and certain Private Nonprofit (PNP) organizations so communities can quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President.
As authorized under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, FEMA provides supplemental Federal disaster grant assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the repair, replacement, and restoration of disaster-damaged, publicly owned facilities and the facilities of certain PNP organizations.
Under the Public Assistance Technical Assistance Contract (PA TAC IV), Serco will provide non-professional and professional services in an Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) capacity to support requirements across the 17 central states within FEMA's Zone 2 (Regions 5, 6, 8).
Serco's Role Supporting FEMA Public Assistance Program
Serco will provide the people and resources needed to support the PA Program during major disasters and emergencies. The Company will hire and deploy personnel to provide advisory and assistance services, technical assessments, cost analysis, as well as project management support to ensure accurate, efficient and consistent recovery operations. These services are typically only needed for short periods of time after major disasters and emergencies in order to implement the PA Program.
Serco's will provide support to FEMA in the execution and delivery of the Public Assistance (PA) program. Due to the re-engineered delivery process for the public assistance program previous experience is beneficial but not a necessity for anyone seeking employment under PATAC IV. Serco will provide training and mentoring to ensure our success supporting FEMA in the delivery of the (PA) program.
