Serco is a place you can make a difference from the very start of your career
At Serco, you will find a purpose each day with challenging work and hands-on experiences through our internship tracks: Business, Technical, Trades and Engineering.
The Serco internship program is open to undergraduate students and runs from the end of May until early August. You can find a meaningful internship working in everything from Artificial Intelligence to Systems Engineering — and many other areas in between. As a Serco intern, you can count on trusted leadership and loyal colleagues to make you feel a part of the team. Whether you’re interning in business development, computer science, human resources, or mechanical engineering, there is a place for you here because every contribution matters.
Our accredited program has been recognized as WayUp’s 2021 Top 100 Internship Programs as an organization that demonstrate best practices around offering students professional experiences through internships that provide them with applicable skills for their future careers.
A place you can thrive
In addition to meaningful work and the potential for growth, we offer our Serco interns the following benefits:
Growth. Impact. Connection.
Serco is a place where you can build a career roadmap full of challenging and rewarding learning experiences. We place significant emphasis on developing the future workforce and set you up for success with diverse learning and opportunities. Here, you grow professionally through hands-on work and developmental opportunities based on our three-tiered learning approach — Learn, Support, Lead.

-
Learn — As a new intern to Serco, you’ll attend training sessions that provide foundational knowledge of Serco’s functions and how we operate as a business to best serve our customers.
-
Support — When you return to Serco for a second summer internship, you are trained on Serco’s Operational Excellence Yellow Belt capability and execute a lean six sigma Yellow Belt project designed to help you learn and apply the theory of continuous improvement.
-
Lead — In your third summer in the Serco internship program you’ll elevate your Operational Excellence skills to lead a second Yellow Belt project and work to pursue your own Yellow Belt Certification.
Each summer you intern with Serco you’ll participate in an Executive Challenge project. The Executive Challenge project teams up interns to be mentored by a member of Serco’s upper management to solve preassigned high-visibility challenges formulated by Serco’s Senior Leadership Team. You’ll work with other interns in small teams to define, research and propose solutions that address their assigned Executive Challenge. This is your place to embrace teamwork, be innovative and solve real problems.
