Serco has launched a partnership with the Future Horizons Programme (FHP) to offer employment opportunities to early service leavers from the Armed Forces in the Environmental Services sector across the UK.
Serco Group plc (Serco), the international services company, today announces it has signed a contract with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to operate the Dubai Tram. The contract has a total value of £18million and will see Serco operate the tram for five years, preceded by an initial 15 month period of preparation, covering the recruitment and training of employees.
Serco, the international services company, has been awarded the contract to partner with Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre (ADSIC), the governmental body overseeing Abu Dhabi's Information technology agenda, to provide shared services to over 50 government departments within the United Arab Emirates. The contract is expected to commence in First Quarter of 2014 and is for an initial term of four years. The deal will see Serco initially provide citizen contact and issue resolution management in the public services realm.

Serco will provide and manage labour to review, verify and process applications on a 'cost-plus-fixed-fee' basis. The contract, which is now in effect, has a one-year base period valued at approximately $115m with further four one-year options. Including all potential option periods and optional tasks, the contract has a potential total contract value of approximately $1.25bn.
For one week in July, staff from Serco’s Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (SQCC) rolled up their sleeves to help the local community at the annual Gatton Show. Canterbury City Council's environmental service partner Serco is launching the Waste Collection Guarantee (WCG) Fund for the charity, community and voluntary sector. Committing a minimum of £15,000 each year into the WCG Fund, Serco will share the money with three good causes that benefit the local communities of Canterbury district. Each of the selected groups will receive a guaranteed £5,000 a year for the next two years to deliver community projects or charitable activities.
