For one week in July, staff from Serco’s Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (SQCC) rolled up their sleeves to help the local community at the annual Gatton Show. Canterbury City Council's environmental service partner Serco is launching the Waste Collection Guarantee (WCG) Fund for the charity, community and voluntary sector. Committing a minimum of £15,000 each year into the WCG Fund, Serco will share the money with three good causes that benefit the local communities of Canterbury district. The contract, which is expected to commence in September, has a six-year base period with a total estimated value to Serco of HK$960m (approximately £80m).
