Serco Group plc (Serco), the international services company, has appointed Duncan Mackison as Managing Director, Defence - part of its UK & Europe Division. Serco provides key support to the UK's Armed Forces and Duncan brings both business acumen and frontline military experience to the role. He will be responsible for around 7,000 staff working across Serco's Defence business and an annual turnover in excess of £400m.
Serco together with Sandwell Council have opened a new £10 million waste transfer station in Tipton. Eagle Lane Transfer Hub in Danks Way, Tipton, handles more than 1,700 tonnes of waste and recycling each week collected from homes across the borough.
Serco has been awarded a contract extension by AgustaWestland Ltd to assist them in maintaining the fleet of Sea King aircraft for the Ministry of Defence under their Integrated Operational Support Contract. The Plenary Serco DES consortium will work with Infrastructure Ontario to finalize contract details and reach financial close over the coming months. Serco, the international service company, today announces the opening of a new business process outsourcing (BPO) delivery centre in Cape Town, South Africa. The new centre, located in the Cape Town Central Business District, is expected to accommodate over 500 new employees and serve a range of international and domestic customers in sectors such as banking, insurance and retail.
