Wishaw General Hospital

Wishaw General Hospital has a reputation for excellence established by Serco in 2001, a key reason why the contract was renewed in 2008 and again in 2015. Our 400 staff have always placed a priority on maintaining hygiene standards and delivering freshly cooked food.  To improve on this further, we have recently commenced inpatient meal plating at ward level as well as introduced handheld devices to our catering staff in order for meal ordering to be carried out with each inpatient at their bedside.

We have also invested in upgrading our restaurant and café facilities for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy as well as handheld devices for our portering team to allow real time task allocation.

We are particularly proud of our role in Project Search, a scheme which supports young people with disabilities find employment. Our commitment to the project resulted in the recruitment of a number of people into permanent roles within the hospital.

100% of fresh food is purchased from specialist suppliers located within 50 miles of Wishaw General Hospital.  This is demonstrated in our Local Supplier Map.
