Marine Services are trusted by the UK Government to deliver critical support services and have been doing so since 2008 on a 15-year contract. Serco Marine Services operates and manages 120 vessels from seven sites around the UK providing critical support to the UK Ministry of Defence, primarily for the Royal Navy at its three main bases in The Clyde, Portsmouth and Devonport.
We have a significant presence on the west coast with over 200 Scottish staff operating 24 vessels based at Greenock, Faslane and the British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre (BUTEC) at Kyle of Lochalsh. The services we provide include pilot, passenger and stores transfer services, moorings maintenance, support to military specialist diver training and towage of nuclear powered submarines. Specifically, at BUTEC we provide range safety and maintenance, target and test equipment recovery, underwater monitoring and passenger transfer services. The Scotland team manages and operates Serco’s ocean going vessels and charters others that provide worldwide support to military training and trials.
We consistently challenge ourselves to provide flexibility in our operations and broaden our value offering to our customers by fostering good relationships, being open and honest, asking them what they need and for feedback on how we are doing, and seeking to innovate.
