What you'll be doing

Serco provide vital accommodation and support services for people while their asylum claim is being processed. We manage a substantial property portfolio. We are invested heavily to improving the quality standards of the properties, ensuring asylum seekers in our care are comfortable and have access to the services they require. 

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week, 7.5 hours per day. Working hours range from 8am until 6pm to meet the operational needs of the business. Out of Hours work is mandatory as per contractual requirement, this duty will take place over a 7-day period including the weekend, Friday to Thursday. Out of Hours is a rota’d in advance and is in place to ensure 24/7 emergency cover is provided.                                                                                                                                                                      

The skills you'll need:

The ideal candidate would need to be organized and efficient. Monthly Inspections require completion each month alongside reactive works such as supporting the Service Users and emergency repairs. The individual would need to be empathetic, understanding and patient, our Service Users are vulnerable, and English is not their first language. Prior to moving into our accommodation, they will have likely been subject to unsafe situations and conditions. Excellent communication and positive attitude to strongly desired.

Training:

Training is ongoing. The company takes a practical approach to training with every member of staff going through an initial induction outlining the core elements of what is required. As well as continued online E-Learning that is detailed and current. The supporting team will be on hand to help and answer questions in real time and provide support.
