Immigration Careers – Gatwick, Yarl’s Wood and Derwentside

The residents at our Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs) are at a critical time in their lives. Our centres provide them with a safe, secure and respectful environment. But it’s your support and understanding that’ll make the real difference. 

We operate three IRCs in the UK. Yarl’s Wood IRC is a residential centre, where we will house adult men awaiting immigration clearance. We have also recently taken over the operation of Gatwick IRC. This is a project that has seen us recruit over 200 staff in addition to the 400 already in place, overseeing up to 600 men at any one time. Management of Derwentside was taken over by Serco in September 2023. Derwentside IRC is a fully contained residential centre housing adult women. At the heart of our work is the emotional and practical support we offer to people in our Centres.
