In this role you will ensure that your allocated hotel is safe, habitable, fit for purpose and fully equipped. Ensuring that all Service Users maintain compliance with the conditions of their support provision. You will be the designated point of contact to support the services users with their requirements. As well as liaising with the hotel and other third parties.
A Day in the life of a Housing Officer
"As a housing officer when I first started in the early days of September, I struggled a lot with communicating with service users who did not understand English. However, over time I began to learn and use different techniques and strategies to overcome this challenge. Nevertheless, my day-to-day life working as a housing officer for Serco group, couldn’t be more rewarding, from helping out service users daily and putting a smile on their faces, to enabling them a warm settling in. Working alongside the best housing officers, has helped me enjoy my role and understand my job a lot better! I have also gained better patience, communication, and quick-thinking skills. Couldn’t possibly think of a more gratifying job."

What you'll be doing
Working Hours:
As a Housing Officer our working pattern covers a 12 hour shift during the day or night. Working hours are 7am -7pm or 7pm to 7am with opportunities to suit your working needs. The working roster is scheduled as 4 on 4 off and you will be part of a designated team for your site.
The skills you'll need:
You will have an ear for detail as a large part of the role is listening to individuals and helping to bring solutions to everyday queries. The detail is important as there has to be an element of accountability within the role, trust and transparency play a large part in delivering quality service.
As well as an excellent telephone manner, keyboard and writing skills, you will also need to have the ability to use multiple IT systems to accurately capture data.
Training:
Training is ongoing. The company takes a practical approach to training with every member of staff going through an initial induction outlining the core elements of what is required. As well as continued online E-Learning that is detailed and current. The supporting team will be on hand to help and answer questions in real time and provide support.
