Technical
Serco has been providing critical engineering maintenance support to the RAF for maintaining five critical UK based Air Defence Radars since 2005. Serco is tasked to ensure greater than 95% operational availability to the users and has consistently delivered >98% availability. As well as the CLS support contract, Serco has also delivered three brand new state of the art TPS-77 radar systems and two radar upgrades to the RAF T92 radars over the last six years.
Core services we provide in Air Defence Radar Contractor Logistic Support Services:
- Provision of 3rd and 4th line repair and maintenance, as well as supporting RAF personnel on the sites with 1st and line repairs
- System Design Authority and obsolescence management
- Compliance with ITAR regulations, & export controls
- Logistics and supply chain management
- 95% of the component repairs are carried out at Serco’s Waterlooville facility, thus reducing the need for time consuming and costly shipping and exports
