COVID-19 Information for Visitors

Navigating the COVID-19 pandemic in our establishments is of great importance to us – our prime focus in this regard is to keep prisoners, staff, and visitors safe.

This page has been put together to provide contact information for prisoners’ families and will be regularly updated with current Government and Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) guidelines.

Please keep referring to the page for the most up-to-date information and note that as Serco managed prisons are in different parts of the country, different rules and restrictions may apply. Restrictions are based on the National Framework for Prisons by HMPPS.

For more information about the National Framework for Prisons, please follow the link to HMPPS: https://bit.ly/3lyAVxo

There are five stages of COVID-19 restrictions that each Serco prison is subject to these and will increase or decrease depending on the current level of infections for each prison. The levels of restrictions range from Stage 5 (highest) to Stage 1 (lowest).

Scottish prisons (HMP Kilmarnock), follow a slightly different framework based on national restrictions which range from Stage 5 (highest) to Stage -0 (lowest).
