HMP Dovegate receives IMB report
The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) recently published their annual report on HMP Dovegate, a category B male training prison in Staffordshire that’s managed by Serco on behalf of the MOJ.
The report highlights several key findings in the prison regime as well as acknowledging the difficulty prison has faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In their main judgements of the prison the IMB said:
“The prison was generally calm and settled, and residents had good relationships with each other and staff. Managers actively work to address gang culture and be aware of vulnerable residents who may be taken advantage of.”
The board also noted the positive relationships between staff and prisoners that was helped by the successful key worker scheme and good communication.
