HMP Lowdham Grange praised for its positive ethos by IMB

The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) recently published its Annual Report on HMP Lowdham Grange.

The prison received an overall positive review with the IMB mentioning that the prisoners are “generally treated fairly” with the regime being built on “a positive ethos” despite the prison population being made up of some very challenging prisoners.

The IMB praised a number of features at Lowdham Grange, including its social responsibility unit (SRU), an area of the prison that’s dedicated to providing enhanced support for prisoners displaying higher rates of antisocial behaviour and violent tendencies by the positive reinforcement of good behaviour.

Another key feature the IMB praised was Lowdham Grange’s improved drug rehabilitation programme that is well regarded by prisoners.
