Covid-19 Update – 10 May 2021: As part of the easing of lockdown restrictions across the UK, social visits at HMP Ashfield have now been resumed. Please visit our Covid-19 Response Page to read the current visiting guidelines.

HMP Ashfield is a Category C adult male training prison built on the site of the former remand centre in the village of Pucklechurch on the North East side of Bristol.

We accept adult men who have been convicted of sexual offences. We provide several intervention courses and various education and skills-based courses to support reducing re-offending upon release.

Our residential structure consists of two house blocks Severn and Avon each of which have 4 wings with ground floor and first floor accommodation.  There are single and double cells.  We also have an EDC (Early Days Centre) where prisoners can spend time acclimatising themselves into their new environment before being moved on to one of the wings.
