Putting passengers first

Serco develops and operates passenger traffic that puts the traveler at the center, from rail and ferry traffic to rental bicycles. In close collaboration with our partners, we create services based on the needs of travelers, and at the same time contribute to society.

How we travel is changing rapidly, and aspects such as sustainability and the travel experience are becoming increasingly important. We combine the latest technology - as the world's first completely wireless tramway system in Dubai - with innovative concepts based on what we see in the market. Train traffic is one of the most important building blocks in sustainable travel, and our mission in Scandinavia is to be the region's leading supplier of night train traffic.

Serco currently handles:

  • A fifteen-year contract to transform the Caledonian Sleeper - the night train between Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Scottish Highlands) and London - into a modern travel experience. Read more about Caledonian Sleeper here [Link to the case page]

  • Merseyrail, the regional trains around Liverpool in the UK

  • Subway and tram traffic in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

  • The Djurgården ferries together with Strömma

  • The ferries between the Shetland and Orkney Islands and Scotland

  • Traffic management of road and air traffic - we are the largest private operator of civil air traffic management in the world

In 2019, Serco Transport had a turnover of £569 million British pounds, around seven billion Swedish kronor.
