Plenary Group and Serco Inc., working as a consortium, announced today that they have been selected as Preferred Bidder for Ontario's Driver Examination Services. The Plenary Serco DES consortium will work with Infrastructure Ontario to finalize contract details and reach financial close over the coming months. The project will provide driver examination services in Ontario over a 10-year period.
Serco has been providing driver examination services for the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) since 2003, and delivers 575,000 knowledge tests and 675,000 roads tests on an annual basis at 95 testing centers across Ontario.
"We are proud to be selected as Preferred Bidder to support MTO, and will work with them to ensure the completion of this procurement process," said Ed Casey, Serco's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We will continue ensuring transportation safety across the province and throughout Canada."
"On behalf of all of our consortium partners, Plenary is thrilled to be selected as Preferred Bidder for Ontario's Driver Examination Services," said Brian Budden, Senior Vice President of Plenary Group. "We look forward to achieving financial close in the months ahead and to working with our partners, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, and Infrastructure Ontario, to deliver quality service for Ontario's drivers."
